Castle Burg is a landmark of the Bergisches Land, rising above the river Wupper near the Boker Manufactory. Count Adolf II. von Berg had the castle constructed on the foundations of a 10th-century fortress. It was finished in 1133. Today, it is one of the biggest castles in western Germany, inseparably connected to the Duchy of Berg and the Counts von Berg (1068-1225). Even today, Burg Castle still reflects the enormous wealth of the dynasty and their far-reaching influence in Northrhine-Westphalia. Count Engelbert II. von Berg was also the Archbishop of Cologne.We keep in touch with the historians of Burg Castle because the corporate history of Boker can be traced back to 1674, when the tree was first entered as the company's trade symbol for tools, and because our history is closely connected to that of the Bergisches Land. Right now, large parts of the castle are being faithfully restored. This includes the replacement of ancient solid oak planks. This inspired us to preserve the historic material for future generations, skillfully turning it into handle scales in our Manufactory.This was the foundation of our knife series Boker Schloss Burg, comprising seven traditional knife styles steeped in history. Swiss Dagger Mosaic Damascus

As early as the 15th and 16th centuries, the Swiss dagger was used as a common weapon by Swiss pikemen and, due to its blade length, often occupied a middle position between dagger and sword. The dagger, also known as a baselard, usually served as a secondary weapon and was usually not issued as equipment, but had to be procured privately by the soldiers.The extraordinary Twisted Damascus is now followed by the Mosaic Damascus, which is also very complex to manufacture. It is one of the royal class of Damascus forging and makes the impressive dagger an absolute highlight in every knife collection. In contrast to conventional Damascus, no layers are produced in the manufacture of Mosaic Damascus. Instead, complex Damascus bars are forged by hand into a mosaic in an elaborate and very complicated process. To do this, the Damascus package, which initially consists of stacked layers, is cut up and reassembled in a staggered manner to create a unique mosaic pattern at the end faces of the bar. The Damascus is then cut up again and the complex process is repeated several times, the resulting pattern becoming finer and more unique with each step. The great success of the Boker M4 Sherman Damascus, which is due not only to the history of the historic Damascus steel but also to the design of the modern folder, has prompted us to use this as the basis for a leading and pleasing EDC with a titanium framelock, which, despite the powder metallurgy of the blade, also carries a genuine piece of M4 Sherman Damascus.For the blade of the Sherman EDC we have used Magnacut for the first time, which is not without reason being celebrated as a "miracle steel". Unlike the tool steels usually used, this steel was developed specifically for knife making. The three desirable properties of a steel - edge retention, toughness and rust resistance (stainless in the DIN category) - represent a conflict of goals. To make the steel rust-resistant, the addition of chromium is necessary, which makes the structure coarse, brittle and susceptible to fracture under normal conditions. High hardness, which has a positive influence on cutting durability, is usually achieved at the expense of toughness. With Magnacut, despite the high chromium content of 10.7% and an impressive hardenability of over 62HRC, it has been possible to achieve a very fine microstructure and thus high toughness and shock-load tolerance. The addition of nitrogen plays a central role here. Nitrogen is actually a steel pest in the alloy. Before long, the endlessness gives way to a feeling of freedom, the sunset bathes the landscape and your mind in a warming blanket of bliss and a gentle breeze. The deep sound of the powerful Windsor V8 small block engine with 250 HP has a calming effect,turning the road trip in the Ford Mustang into a very special moment. Inspired by the World War II fighter plane, the P-51 Mustang, Ford developed its own Mustang in the early 1960s, and brought it to market in April 1964. As a compact sports coupe, the affordable pony car, emblazoned with the iconic galloping horse emblem in the radiator grill, appealed primarily to a younger clientele. To counteract the highly motorized competition from Dodge, Pontiac and Chevrolet, Ford made a statement in the league of powerful muscle cars with the Mustang Mach-1. The first-generation Mach-1 from 1969 was only available as a fastback version and featured a number of visual and performance differences to the standard model: sports suspension, matt black racing stripes and a cowl induction hood, chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes and fuel filler cap, bonnet pins, front and rear spoilers as well as a luxurious interior spurred more than 72,000 units of this model to be sold. The development of the heavy tank can be traced back to 1937, and series production began in August 1942. Today, there are only seven preserved units, which are exhibited all over the world. Due to the low availability, the so-called Frankentiger was even assembled for this purpose from wreckage parts of different production years.The tank parts we use come from a Tiger I of the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502, which was destroyed in combat in Latvia in the summer of 1944 in a heavily wooded area near the town of Bauska. Based on the wreckage found at the original excavation site, it was determined that this Tiger was an early to mid-production model. Examination of battle damage to the remains, military records and local historical accounts revealed that this Tiger tank collided with both a Russian T-34 medium tank and an SU-76 anti-tank gun, and was also damaged by a stationary 45-mm anti-tank gun. It is still unclear which of the impacts caused the most damage and sealed the fate of the Tiger. However, as several 76-mm fragments were lodged in the heavy armour, it is assumed that a nearby T-34 landed the decisive hits before it was destroyed 300 metres away, too.Otto Carius and Albert Kerscher, two of the most successful tank commanders of the Second World War, were attempting to stop the advance of Soviet forces on Riga at the time, with the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502. The division was able to so devastatingly defeat the enemy blockade forces near Tukums that it was able to retreat to the Latvian Courland together with more than 500,000 other soldiers of the Heeresgruppe Nord. There the forces were encircled in the further course of the Soviet advance. The Kurland Cauldron served as a bridgehead and could be supplied by the Kriegsmarine via sea. It withstood six major attacks by Soviet forces until the unconditional surrender on 8 May, 1945. The straight-edged Boker Tiger-Damascus is equipped with a unique damascus blade made from the steel of the battle tank destroyed at Bauska. The non-stainless mosaic damascus is forged for us by hand by Chad Nichols in the Intrepid pattern and is reminiscent of the tank tracks left in the ground by the Tiger's heavy tracks. Unlike conventional damascus, the production of mosaic damascus does not create layers, but complex damascus bars are forged by hand into a mosaic in an elaborate and very complicated process. The ball-bearing blade is opened by a thumb stud and locked by a sturdy steel framelock with a stonewash finish, while a Hinderer lock-stop acts as an over-extension protection for the lock. The overall shape of the knife pays homage to the famous lines of the tank, while the decorative pivot screw is modelled on the main drive sprocket. The slightly contoured handle scales made of burlap micarta are provided with precisely milled grooves, which are reminiscent of the characteristic surface structure of the Zimmerit coating of German armoured vehicles. Rescue OTF

First and foremost, a rescue tool must meet one central requirement: in an emergency and stressful situation, it must be quick, easy and reliable to use. The technically best solution to meet this requirement is a construction with an automatic thrust blade (OTF, short for Out-of-The-Front) with a robustly constructed and carefully crafted mechanism. This poses a legal challenge for manufacturers in Germany, because according to the German Weapons Act, OTF knives are initially prohibited (WaffG §1 Paragraph 4 in conjunction with Annex 1 Section 1 Subsection 2.1.1). For the rescue tool Boker Plus Kalashnikov Rescue OTF, however, there is now a notice of assessment from the Federal Criminal Police Office, which negates the weapon and prohibition properties of this tool due to the shape of the blade.
