Only two years later, the now world-famous AK-47 was officially put into service as the "7.62 mm Awtomat Kalasshnikova obraztsa 1947". Even then, the simple and reliable design as a gas pressure loader with a rotary head breech, the consistent use of sheet metal stampings that could be produced quickly and inexpensively, and the adherence to a cartridge class introduced by the Wehrmacht with the StG 44 with an average performance between submachine gun and rifle ammunition were trend-setting to this day. These features resulted in the Kalashnikov system being the most widely built and replicated handgun in history, with an estimated 100 million made worldwide today.Introduced in 1959 along with the AKM, the revised variant of the AK-47, the bayonet was no less revolutionary and formative for later designs than the famous assault rifle itself. The P-51 D is the most common series, with just under 8,000 pieces. The American M4 Sherman was already designed in 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history. It was produced between 1942 and 1945, was in service until 1957 and was used on all battlefields of the Second World War - not only by the United States and Canada, but also by Great Britain, the Free French Forces, China and even the Soviet Union.Originally developed to replace the M3 Grant/Lee medium tank, the Sherman tank's main mission was to support the infantry, lead attacks and reinforce defensive positions. The Sherman was built close to 50,000 times and was the most widely used tank of the Allies during World War II. It was produced in countless mission-specific variations and was used well into the Cold War.Together with the Americans in the Wartime Museum in Virginia, we have managed to preserve an important piece of lost history. The Boker Sherman-Damascus is equipped with a unique damascus blade, forged from different materials from the production of M4 Sherman tanks, which were previously restored by the museum. Barlow M4 Sherman-Damascus

The worldwide enthusiasm for our unique Boker M4 Sherman-Damascus quickly convinced us to also design a classic model supplied with the history-steeped Damascus steel. Compared to the original model, the traditional Boker Barlow is significantly more compact and not only cuts a particularly good figure in the knife showcase, but also impresses as a gentleman's knife suitable for a trouser pocket in everyday life. The blade is made of the incomparable Sherman-Damascus, is opened by nail nick and does not lock. The operating safety of the history-laden slipjoint pocket knife is further enhanced by a 90 degree detent when opening and closing. The striking drop shape of the Barlow can be traced back to the English pocket knives of the 17th century, which certainly makes it one of the oldest models ever. The name of the classic probably goes back to an enterprising Sheffield knife manufacturer of the same name, who began exporting the robust knives to North America around 1800. There they immediately enjoyed great popularity and so at the end of the 19th century the first Barlow models also appeared in the history of the Boker Manufactory.The American M4 Sherman was designed as early as 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history. It was produced between 1942 and 1945, put into service until 1957 and used in all battlefields of the Second World War - not only by the United States and Canada, but also by Great Britain, the Free French Forces, China and even the Soviet Union. The Sherman was built almost 50,000 times and is the most frequently used tank by the Allies in the Second World War. It was produced in countless mission-specific variations and used well into the Cold War. Trapper Castle Burg

Castle Burg is a landmark of the Bergisches Land, rising above the river Wupper near the Boker Manufactory. Count Adolf II. von Berg had the castle constructed on the foundations of a 10th-century fortress. It was finished in 1133. Today, it is one of the biggest castles in western Germany, inseparably connected to the Duchy of Berg and the Counts von Berg (1068-1225). Even today, Burg Castle still reflects the enormous wealth of the dynasty and their far-reaching influence in Northrhine-Westphalia. Count Engelbert II. von Berg was also the Archbishop of Cologne. We keep in touch with the historians of Burg Castle because the corporate history of Boker can be traced back to 1674, when the tree was first entered as the company's trade symbol for tools, and because our history is closely connected to that of the Bergisches Land. Right now, large parts of the castle are being faithfully restored. This includes the replacement of ancient solid oak planks. This inspired us to preserve the historic material for future generations, skillfully turning it into handle scales in our Manufactory. This was the foundation of our knife series Boker Schloss Burg, comprising seven traditional knife styles steeped in history. Apart from the scales of historic oak wood sourced from Burg Castle (Schloss Burg), the knives also feature brass liners and blades made from O1 carbon steel. Highlighting the authenticity of the knives, the blades are finished with a special acid wash, which also protects them from harmful environmental impact. All styles are handcrafted by Boker Manufactory Solingen as a strictly limited edition of 1133 pieces worldwide. They come with a new version of the historic Boker tree symbol.
