The TOPS CUMA Kage is an honest-to-goodness short sword. It was designed by Sijo Waysun Johnny Tsai, a true expert in martial arts and edged weapons. The sword is made of 1/4" thick 1095 high carbon steel, so it's tough as nails. The edge is straight for the most part, making parrying moves easy, but the tip of the blade has what looks like a mini kukri, adding weight and cutting power to the forte. Hornero

Most cutting tasks out there can be performed with blades 3.5” or shorter. Usually though, smaller blades also come with smaller handles. While that’s great when it comes to overall size and carry-ability of a knife, sometimes, having a smaller blade with a larger handle is to one’s advantage, especially if you’re going to be using it for a while. Now a tradition at TOPS Knives, an employee design contest takes place each year. TOPS asks its employees to design a knife for specific use with some required specs. In 2016, it was a hatchet. In 2017, it was a chef’s knife. TOPS Tanimboca Puukko has been a big success since it was made available in 2017. So, it was only fitting that when Goran approached TOPS about making a mini version, we were interested. The Mini Tanimboca Puukko is a great tool for making bushcraft items (utensils, kuksa, baskets, blow guns, etc. are all things that Goran had in mind with this), whittling around the fire, and even accomplishing some EDC uses.This knife is smaller than most and has no guard (so use caution). A few years back, Ed Calderon was able to host one of his most famous training courses at TOPS Knives and took the time to be a guest on TOPS Daily Grind. During his time in Idaho Falls, there were many conversations about edged tools and weapons. The Silent Hero was designed by Anton Du Plessis, who at the time of the design was the Chief of Operations for the Specialized Interdiction Unit of the Silent Heroes Foundation. His task was to combat the poaching crisis in South Africa. Ana has worked at TOPS since about 2012. She has filled many roles in the company during her tenure, from cord wrapping handles to purchasing everything (parts, pieces, tools, even paper towels) for the company. Now a tradition at TOPS Knives, an employee design contest takes place each year. TOPS asks its employees to design a knife for specific use with some required specs. In 2016, it was a hatchet. In 2017, it was a chef’s knife. And that is how the Dicers were born. Jesus Arellano has been the graphics manager at TOPS since 2013. Nearly all of the photographs on the TOPS website, social media accounts, and advertisements are either taken by Jesus or edited by him. Kelly McCulley spent seven and a half years in the US Army. During his time in the service, he searched for the right knife to meet his needs as a combat tool that could do the duty of a utility knife, too. In all his time in the service, he never quite found the one that would fit what he wanted in a combat knife. Sound familiar? It's one of the same reasons that TOPS Knives was founded and one of the reasons that TOPS produces such a variety of models. Around 2010, Kelly started designing knives that his fellow servicemen and women could rely on as they were deployed. He has been making those knives since and has some smart designs under his belt.The Missile Strike is a great combination of combat and utility. Its narrow blade with long swedge allows for great penetrating stabs (the swedge can be sharpened upon request). The 0.25" thickness provides enough weight to add some power in stabbing, slashing, and when smashing using the pointed pommel. Brush Wolf

The Brush Wolf was designed while considering the diverse environments coyotes traverse. They can be spotted deep in the forest, open fields, deserts, grasslands, swamps, cities, and even the alley behind your local Starbucks. The Brush Wolf was designed by Aaron and Nate Morgan of Houghton Era after a few tracking excursions in some viaducts in Detroit, MI. The two brothers grew up skateboarding there and became attracted to the remnants of coyote activity they were finding at some of the skate spots. Coyotes are known by many names, Song Dogs, Tricksters, Shape shifters, gods of the threshold. The Brush Wolf will help anyone thrive in those liminal spaces on the edge of the city, and in new territory you’ve yet to explore. This knife nods at the traditional Nessmuk style blade but comes with some technical features as well. If you can’t steal fire like the coyote, you’ll likely not fail with the 90 degree spine section located right above the soft jimping, or the bow drill notches located on each side of the handle. Its Nessmuk shape combined with a high saber grind make it a superior blade for processing wood and skinning game.
