This gambeson is handmade from black cotton and buckles up the front. The sleeves are sewn at the top of the shoulder but are split under the armpit. This gives the arms a greater range of movement while allowing the gambeson to fit a wider range of bodies.
This thick quilted gambeson, crafted from thick cotton can be adjusted with leather straps and brass buckles on the front. Its interior is lined with cotton felt. This gambeson is crafted from organic material, which allows the wearer to breathe better. Features an open arm pit design allowing for better mobility and some ventilation.
A thick, padded jacket common to Medieval and Renaissance warriors, the Gambeson was a protective layer beneath chain or plate armor - it served both as a shock absorbing layer and chafe protection for its wearer. Poorer combatants and lightly-armored archers and skirmishers might wear only the gambeson as their major piece of body armor.
