Although the origin of armor for combat dates back to Egyptian times and developed with the Greeks and Romans, the most famous medieval armor is made of steel or iron plates connected with hooks, nuts and nails and the warrior with straps and brackets hold. Armor reached perfection in the Middle Ages, and in the middle of the 16th century it was transformed into a luxurious garment for the warrior, adorned and embellished with the beauties of sculpture and the metal industry. From the 18th century they are only used as an incomparable ornament for castles, palaces, museums and all those places that want to incorporate a beautiful historical memory into their stays.

The Royal Arms Museum in Madrid becomes one of the largest and richest armaments collections in the world, mainly containing pieces from the time of Charles I in the 16th century, from which Marto was inspired to reproduce in different sizes or scales, the materials used being very similar to the originals: Handcrafted iron and steel, brocades, and wooden plinths that give the metal an ancient patina that protects it from external oxidation.
